List of things to consider when selecting a headset

A there are plenty of Bluetooth headsets available in the market. However, not all headsets available in the market will suit your needs. It is therefore very important to consider certain factors when choosing a motorcycle Bluetooth headset so that you can be able to get the right one for your specific needs. In this article, we are going to discuss some of the most important things that you need to put into consideration when searching for a motorcycle Bluetooth headset for your helmet and bike.

1. Consider distance.

One of the most important things that you need to consider when searching for the right motorcycle headset for your helmet and bike is the distance. This factor is even more important if you are type of person who like riding with a group of other riders. The main reason why you should consider this factor is because Bluetooth headphones work differently. There are some which only work in a straight line meaning that you will not be able to see, hear nor see other riders. However, if you are planning to ride with someone on your bike, then distance is not a very serious factor to consider. Distance will only be a challenge if you are far apart with other riders or if you go normally through a lot of turns in canyons. The experience that we have regarding headsets, we recommend that you choose a headset that is able to go up to 400 feet if you think that distance will be a challenge to you.

2. Consider battery life

If you are the type of person who like going for long rides, then battery life is a very important factor that should not be ignored. Motorcycle Bluetooth headsets have different battery life depending on the brand that you choose. There are some brands which have longer lifespan than others. If you are the type of person who usually go for shorts ride like me, then battery life should not be a big concern. When buying a Bluetooth headset, ensure that the battery life of that particular headset is able to outlive your rides. However, if you are pretty sure that you cannot outlive the battery life of your headsets, then ensure that you choose one that can easily be charged. We recommend that you choose one that can be charged through a USB cable, this way you can easily charge your headset even with your cigarette to USB adapter when you are taking a refreshment break.

3. Microphone type.

There are two main types of microphone. They include a stick type and a boom type. Both of them are great in their own way. For instance, the boom type always stays in place meaning that you can comfortably lift your face and talk to the mic. On the other hand if you are the type of person who like full face mask helmets then stick is the best microphone type to choose. This is because you only need to install inside the helmet in front of your mouth and it will always stay in place.

4. Consider compatibility.

If you are planning to use the headset with your smartphone, then you should consider the headset compatibility. Only choose a headset that is recommended by your smartphone manufacturer. Although most headset are compatible with smartphones, it is prudent to check before you make a purchase just to be sure that you buying the right thing.
